Hi all, Just joined the Forum. We just purchased a 1962 F100 with the 1960 bed . What are the best value suspension upgrades to drop the truck a little and add a small block V8. Thanks in advance for your input.
Jeff
Welcome to FTE from Canada. Lots of guys do the CV swap and there are aftermarket options as well. You could also do the flip kit with your leaf springs. It all depends on your budget.
I just notice that there is not a lot of options for the Mustang II swap or fabricated cross-members. I have found only 1 place is the Fat-mans Fabrication.
Team 321 makes a narrowed Crown Vic. I have not researched suspension swaps much but keep in mind your truck has a 34 inch frame rail spacing. This is the same from at least 1953 to 1979 so what works on those early years works on our trucks too.
2003-2011 crown Vic, Grand Marquis, or Lincoln Town car. It'll work on your truck just fine. Search for f100 crown Vic and you'll find a ton of threads about the topic.
You bet it will. There is a member here who is currently doing a 61 Flareside. You are just in time to watch his build. I forget his username but its BPeitzer or something along that line. Should find it within the 1st 4 or 5 pages.
