Hey guys, new here & first time FE owner. I have a '74 F100 Manual with a 360 that I just picked up.
It stumbles/exhaust backfires at @2500 rpm. I've narrowed it down to the vacuum advance on the distributor. I can disconnect and plug the advance hose and it runs fine through all rpms. I have adjusted the vacuum advance with no obvious change. Points, cap, rotor all new. Just rebuilt the carb.
The vacuum is set up just like the attached diagram(minus bi-metal line). Not looking to re-engineer the vacuum system...egr delete etc...
Bad bushings? Bad mechanical advance?
What do you guys think?
