The Ford installed plug is near the tailgate end of the bed.
When we had a camper I put a plug up near the cab end of the bed. My cord would have never reached the Ford plug.
Lance truck camper.

i am sure it is possible for the dealer to put it in, best to take the bed off to do it, but there are aftermarket solutions that might be cheaper.

Get the camper package and the 5th wheel prep package. Don't cost that much and will be easier and better in the long run...

My last truck had a 7 pin plug that bolted with a bracket to the bed rail. No holes required. Have no idea where GM sourced that bracket...
It looks like these are sheet metal screws that only penetrate inside wall?
