Hey trying to get my 86 running tried to turn over crank will spin around 90 degrees and stop let oil sit over night still nothing transmission is detached from engine so thats out of the question, was wondering if this could be stuck valve or seized piston and hoiw to diagnose the difference. I know remove the heads and check the valves but im a little lazy and we know how crappy it can be to take off headers.. any input is welcome thanks guys!
If they move at all you're good on the valves. If one is down and the rocker arm loose, there's a culprit.
Another possibility is the timing chain wadding up or hitting a damaged area of a sprocket.
If you pull a head and everything is fine, that's a bigger mess than pulling the front cover. If you pull the front cover and everything is fine, well the whole thing is going to come apart anyway.
finally got her loose 1/2'' breaker and some nut breaker in the piston gotter going found a small leak in the carb hat thats been dripping down the intake so thats always fun, but all good stabbed tranny last night should be driving once i reman that 2-barrel

You could have a bent connecting rod from that fuel leaking into a cylinder. Called hydro-lock. liquid does not compress, when the piston reaches a certain point where all the available space is taken up in the cylinder, the connecting rod will bend.
