bright/dim head light ?

ntm 99F150. When I switch from dim to bright, the bright lights point down to the ground as opposed to up and out. It's like the bright -dim switch is wired up backwards.I noticed the headlight lens have been replaced. Question here, should the light bulbs be indexed when mounted into the new lens. Right now, I can rotate the bulbs to any position before I tighten the mounting nut. Can you shed some light on this problem?

If they were just replaced, it was done incorrect.
The Bulbs and the housing are indexed.
If they are working that way, there wrong.
.
First time I ever heard of this, incredible!.

Probably an aftermarket housing. There isn't an index in the housing.

Head lamp is # 9007. See page 69 in owner manual.
They are indexed to the housing and provide a gasketed water seal when in place.
If either one is improper, good chance of an issue.

I was able to take things apart today, no rain for a change. The cheap replacement housing did have at one time very small markers for the light bulb to line up with. They were so small that. the OO did not pay any attention to them and broke them. I reinstalled them in what appears to be the correct position I will see tonight if it works correctly. Thanks for your input..

That's all it takes is a closer look and some thinking.
Good luck.
