the last month iv noticed my driver side head light not comming on. so how i turn it on is i go out, and i tap on the front of the head light and it comes on. sounds like a loos connection. if the bulb was blown, it would never light up. i kinda checked the wires behind the light. it all seemed to be fine. there was not alot of room either. do i have to take the head light out to change the bulb on the driver side?
The halogen light has a thinner filament than a standard bulb. When the filament does burn out, you get two thin coils of wire that actually wave around a bit. Often, you can tap sharply on the lights and cause those two filament ends to touch and create a circuit. But it doesn't last long, they will eventually separate again.
Just replace the light bulb, it'll work fine.
To take the bulb out, turn the ring behind the headlight mount counterclockwise, then pull back.
Don't touch the glass portion of the new bulb with your fingers. The oils in your hand will shorten the bulb life.
