i was wondering if wellman glowplugs are good to use? i heard always use motorcraft and never autolites? but here are a bunch of diff plugs which brand is the best? thanks for any help guys!!
I used the motorcraft's that were built in Germany I believe. I had something go wrong in the pass side. The glow plug fried and took the valve cover gasket with it. I posted pics on here with the damage. My neighbor has been using the Autolites in his. So far there are two dead ones that will not come out. He just left them in there.
You should not need a new gasket. And be gentle with the wrench when you put it back on. Snug is all they really need to be to make a nice seal.
Dead GPs are no big deal. The worst thing a GP can do is swell up and be stuck. If you are not careful, trying to remove it can cause it to break off inside the cylinder. If it does, fishing it out is pretty impossible. Welcome to head removal town, population - you.
