292 timing question

292 timing question

I was working on my engine today and I am putting the timing chain and gears on. I now the marks have to be a 3 o'clock facing the oil filter side. But the link have got me confused. It says 12 pins between marks but in books I have seen different things. Is it 12 pins in whole links or 2 half link? This has me confused. Any advise will be greatly appreciated. Just seen different things in different books.

Thank you. Should the marks on the gears be at 3 o' clock ? I have it at TDC. Well the passenger side front piston all the way up but my marks are slightly below 3' o clock

If the replacement gears are marked correctly, you will have twelve pins between the marks. The FYB is unique in how they marked the gears, They are showing key way positions to help you set it up correctly.
