On my 2001 I dislike how the fogs turn off when the highbeams are activated. I want to add a three way switch (on-off-on) to my f650 dash that will allow me to have the fogs operate as the factory intended in one on position or have them on along with the highbeams in the other on position. I have included a diagram of the fog circuitry for the 2001. I currently have the dash torn apart and have access to the wires behind the light switch and access to the fog relay and its associated wires. Thanks.
Wire your 3 way switch to interrupt wire 275 from light switch to Fog Relay.
One ON circuit of your switch will carry the original circuit.
The other on Circuit will provide voltage to energize the fog lamp relay when you want it to. I would power it with voltage from a parking light source, so you can run fogs without headlight but they will still turn off with the lights.
You could also do it with an ON - ON switch (SPDT)
I do not understand something? Where does the bright light switch drop power to the fog light relay? Is that information on another schematic?
Are you referring to how the highbeams deactivate the fog lights? I haven't figured that out yet. I know that when you activate the highbeams the White/Black wire (188) loses 12v's which in turn kills the power to the yellow wire (275) that activates the relay.

Looks like your answer is on page 97-3 and 97-5. Multifunction switch.

Not sure I follow. You want to have the fog light operate as factory intended but why doesn't it? Every vehicle I have been in, high beams cut off the fog lights. What am I missing?
@akim. He wants control of the fog lights in two different switch positions. 1 position is normal operations (fog lights go off when bright beams are turn on). 2 position- fog lights stay on whether head lights are low or high or even off.
Not that I’m opposed to doing it different, but the reason fog lights operate they way they do on stock switch is because that complies with DOT. (No fogs without headlights on and no fogs with hi-beam)
Clearly these ‘laws’ are pretty much never enforced.
I have always wired fog lights and driving lights on 3-pos switches. ON-OFF and ON w/high or low beam (driving/fog).
