Temp gauge not working

Hey everybody, this morning I fired the truck up and my temp light came on and the temp gauge was way below cold. After researching I thought it may be the cht sensor so I replaced it. Turns out that's not it. When I start the truck it works for a second or so then the gauge falls and light comes on again. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Ground for that sensor is behind the driver kick panel.
Check this out first.
Good luck.

Thanks! I will do that. You wouldn't know which color the wires are would you?

You can see which ones are grounded and clean and redo them.

Well after checking the grounds and having no luck with that I found the culprit. One of the wires coming from the sensor was broken. Don't know how I missed it. Only problem is I can't find the right connector. I need the one that plugs into this one. So I've got the sensor then connector and about a half inch before the other end the wire is broke. Not enough to connect the wires back together and don't think I'd want to anyway due to the wires being so brittle. Either that or I need the whole thing.
