temp gauge doesn't work in my 85 f250 replaced the engine temp sensor for the gauge and still nothing.
let me know what could be causing it

I changed the one on the drive side closest to the oil fill tub which I found on a labeled photo on line showing where all three were located. so as far as I know I changed the right one.
Try pulling the wire from that sensor and grounding it. Turn the ignition switch 'on'. If the gauge is functioning properly it will peg or close to it on the hot side and the new sensor is faulty. If there is no to little movement then the gauge or wiring is faulty.
