I have my cab off.....I find my downpipe like this.
So I email CSD...have a new one coming. Normally $150....Carson is a good man.
As some of you @Sous@srb150@akcooper9 recall, I did have fitment issues when I installed it. I had a muffler shop do the final connection....when I picked it up, the pipe was hard against the firewall....and after I pointed that out to them, they fixed it.....like that.
Again Dan, I don't know man... We have been round and round about the DP on your truck. You and I must have sent a dozen texts back and forth trying to figure it out. Since Akcooper9 had his DP issues fixed, I haven't really seen any DP problems from CSD other than your fitment issues. Maybe the new one you are getting from CSD will go right in.
Remember I had suspicions that the difference in the case of the ZF6 and the 4R100 may be a contributing factor, but many other 4R100 trucks have had the CSD kit installed without issue. I don't know what to say other than I hope the new DP goes in very easily.
Sous, brother....the turbo mounts in the same place on the 7.3 whether a 4R100 or ZF-6...and the firewall is in the same spot. But yeah, it was trouble go the word go. Hopefully better this time. When I get home tonight, I'll add a picture of the rest of the exhaust shop work.

Yes sir, the turbo does mount in the same place and the firewall is the same. Other than your DP having different bends in it than the rest, the only other thing I could come up with was the dipstick or something else preventing the DP from being installed easily.
Frustrating for you and us because we want to help even though you have our every confidence. Keep us posted on the new DP.
See...I oddly recall that I couldn't get it in from the bottom. And placed the DP before mounting the turbo....but, I've slept since then.
You are correct, the CSD instructions do have us put the down pipe in before the turbo is mounted. Perhaps there is a reason for that. I’m quite sure mine went in from the bottom, but my memory could be wrong. When you do install the down pipe, please let us know if the turbo had to be removed, I’m curious and that would be good information to have.
Hey Dan, I had a similar issue with my CSD down pipe hitting on the transmission dipstick tube as well. So I tried to pry on it slightly just make a little room, well now I have a small leak at the base of the transmission tube. I have a new replacement transmission tube that I'm going to install, but first I'm going to attempt to remove the old tube with out removing the entire T4/ Turbo kit, but from what I understand, its not possible. If I can't get it, I might just remove the driveline and center support and lower the tail of the transmission instead. This of course is to be able to get to the dipstick tube bolt on the Transmission. Brad had the same issue with his down pipe hitting on the dipstick tube. Brad said he was able to pry on it enough to get it off the of the downpipe, and in his case, it worked.
On edit; I believe the only way to get the downpipe out is to unbolt the bellowed pipes and push them over to the drivers side, in order to make room enough to lower the down pipe. Of course this means removing the Turbo first.
