Exterior Door Handle E350
Have any of you guys changed one of these exterior door handles? How do you get the little yellow clasp up top unclipped?
Has anyone changed out the rivots with bolts?

I'm not sure on an E series, but on a lot of mechanisms on the F series, the rod the yellow clip holds is shaped like an L. The short part of the L goes into a hole in the clip, then the clip pivots and snaps onto the long arm of the L To remove the rod unsnap the clip and pull the rod from the clip. I have used bolts to replace the rivets when I replaced the rear outer door handle on a 90 Torus I had.

I know the hinge is on the right side, but I can't get it to unclip on the left. Is there some sort of trick?

Those are different than the clips I was talking about. The white part on the yellow clip is the lock that holds the clip together. You should be able to lift the white lock, and that will allow the clip to split open and the rod will slip out. From what I can tell by the pic, the "hinge" is on the side you can see, the back side is the side you should be able to lift to allow the clip to split.
