Yes but not everyone has caps sitting on their bench but most likely have a gas hose that fits and a bolt to fit the hose.

The only gas going in this tank is ethanol free.

Ok but still as said the rubber was not made to handle any type of gas only coolant.
I have 1 in a stick transmission and I am worried it will not holt up but I have not driven this car yet so I be changing it out.

If youre not in a huge hurry, dont try to make a square plug fit in a round hole. I agree I would have the proper tank sent to you since its what you paid for. You shouldnt have to make it work. But if you want to make it work, I think youve been given some good options. Since it is still empty/new I agree with alans77crew and patching it now. Do it once and then you dont have to worry about rubber breaking down later on down the road.
