I did have to call for a tow with Good Sam. See post #9.
Read post 9 always been good equipment showed up. Ever hear the saying you get what you pay for?? Again I challenge you to READ the complaints & compare. They asked for advice on road side, get cheap or good, normally not they do not coincide, you get one or the other.
I've only ever called roadside for the fiver once and at the time, since I had gone 7 years without needing one, I only had the free roadside available through my insurance available. 2 hours later, with some Macgyvering and a whole lot of cursing, I had already managed to change the blowout myself before the free 'roadside' finally called me back to find out where I was. Yep, I spoke to them like 10 times, several different conversations for information, but my location wasn't one of them until after I had managed to deal with the issue myself.
I think the variable which may be most important, but not mentioned is where a breakdown occurs. I have heard multiple comments online about 6 and 8 hour waits for help to arrive and in one case after a lengthy wait, an owner called the Hwy Patrol and they got a wrecker to him quickly. In the end, I think it is a crap shoot. Just my opinion.
I have AAA Plus RV, never needed it for the rv. If you're a boondocker like myself or even pull off the blacktop to far these plans probably aren't going to help you without pulling the wallet out first.
The last two posts in the thread below are rather negative for Coach-Net. I'm sure I could find more, just like you could find more complaints about Good Sam Club.
I see no one has mentioned AARP's Roadside Service. I have had it for many years and have used it a number of times. Competitive pricing too. Of course, you must be a member of AARP .
