SYNC navigation map update

Searched and couldn't find it, but I believe there is a way to get a free map update. My truck is a 2013 6.7 Lariat (SYNC2?).

Can someone point me to the correct website?

I had some luck copying the maps from the card in another Ford vehicle. Had to do some digging online to figure out how to do it. Got any other vehicles with newer maps?

I've never seen free updates. You can buy the update extremely discounted on eBAY.

There was a website that claimed you could use its "open source" maps and create a card with them, but it never worked for me. The vehicle never recognized the maps or the card and I can't find the site anymore.

This site claims to be an "alternative" but is just another "pay to use" service.

Here's an article claiming that Ford will do it for free during scheduled service at a dealer (article is Australia so YMMV):

The 2013-2016 uses maps on an SD card. The current version is A10. A11 should be available in a few months or so.

I tried the free download and formatting thumb drives and loading the files... no luck and a waste of time. Given the numerous threads on various forums for what an asinine process it is Ford should definitely change the way they do things or just make a pre-formatted Thumb Drive availabe to eliminate the hassle.

I bought the A10 update on eBay last year and it has been fine.

Has anyone heard of when the newest revision will be available? I’m leaving in May for AK and it would great to have the software updated...

I purchased my A10 card last year in February. Have not seen any listings for the next version (A11?).

This is the link for the official Ford NAV update site (pricey) for Sync and Sync2...

I bought the A10 update on eBay. After install, I'll report back. Thanks for all of your input.

Forgot all about this post until now. The A10 scandisk from eBay worked perfectly. Subtle differences from the old nav. Highly recommend this easy, inexpensive upgrade.

I just checked the card in my 2015, and its an A5. I'm thinking about picking up an A10 for cheap, or maybe an A11 if the changes are significant enough. Does anyone know how major these map updates are, and if they are worthwhile?

I like to keep the maps as current as possible at a reasonable cost in my 2015 F350. At this time, the A11 is approx $100. The A10 can be had for like $20.

I few months from now, there should be some A11 cards for $50 or less.

Sorry in advance for hijacking the thread, how is a 2011 updated since no SD card slot?
What is the latest update for a 2011?

Rainicek says the A10 card worked for him and mjs2011 say he has a 2015 truck. Therefore, they must have the SD map card?

This is the latest update for the "brick" radios in the 2011-2012.
