Bought a new 6.4 starter from O'Reilly's in 2015, lasted 51,000 miles then broke the plastic pin in the solenoid. Got lucky in that it happened on my property but my only options locally for a new starter was $450 and nobody had a solenoid. Found this on Amazon for $108 delivered on sunday. Made in china but works fine and sounds like it spins faster than the old one. New solenoid ordered and will go on the old one for a spare.

 

I have a place where I can get the solenoid from. It has been a few years but I can see if they still have them.

 

No worries sean. I called O'Reilly's on a whim to see if there was a warranty, turns out it had a lifetime warranty. They only carry rebuilds now but that's fine for a spare to throw in the camper.
