Starter will not stop cranking

i am not sure if i should replace my solenoid or can it be rebuilt or tested to see if it is working properly.

Been there done that. Could not find a solenoid. Wound up getting a new starter. Autozone might test it fore you. Maybe nappa.

I had that happen on my old jeep. Something in the starter got hung. Had to replace starter.

Do our trucks have a starter relay? If so the contacts might have welded them selfs shut.

You need to check the relay on the passenger fender well first. Thats the one that tells the starter to engage.
