2012 Screw Lariat 3.5 EcoBoost. 109K miles. Truck shutters when at low revs in higher gears. I have replaced the plugs and coils. Problem persists. Will idle and rev in park/neutral without any problems. Shutter only happens at highway speeds. I have also drilled the 1/16 hole in the intercooler. So there is no condensation issue either. If I stomp on it and make it downshift and rev up it smooths out. I really hope someone can help me. I am at the end of my rope here. Have only had the truck for two months. TIA.
and you have no codes ??? Most common would be failed plug... maybe one of the NEW plugs or coils failed ?...... the COP attaches to the plug with a short spark plug wire... THey get old and crack... should install NEW when you put in new plugs... you did that ? ............ did you use dielectric greases ? You need a small amount on the OUTSIDE where the plug wire touches the plug... NOT on the steel end.
Is it mild or is it cutting out like a true misfire?
I've driven a few, and noticed that in the right conditions they will try to use torque at low engine speed to do things instead of shifting down a gear. That would lead to a slight stuttering feeling.
To further diagnose, put it in tow/haul and see if it keeps the revs up enough to not do that.
I didn't replace the plug wires, just the coils and plugs. I'm not getting any codes and the CEL is not on. I have tested it with overdrive off and the problem remains. I'm not sure when the last transmission service was. Not getting any codes or light is what has me weirded out.
No codes tells me that it's not an engine problem as you've mitigated all that. I'd get the transmission fluid dumped with a screen change and see if that helps, You're in the zone for a transmission service anyway. The low rev / high gear shuttering with no codes leads me to dirty worn out transmission fluid. It's impossible to diagnose here on the web but perhaps you can have a dealer run a diagnostic on it.

I took it to the dealership today. They say the transmission needs to be replaced. I am going to seek another opinion I think.
