Not an engine problem so if I need to post somewhere else let me know. I just like my 6.0 forum. But I just saw that my bed has a 1 ft X 1 ft section that's rotted and a few other spots that aren't gone but are pretty bad. Does anyone know of a solution that doesn't require getting an entire new bed? And if there aren't any that'll break the bank. The rest of the bed is fine just the floor. I'm assuming it had a liner in there that wasn't put in correctly.
There are bed panels that you can patch in, from Dorman and some of the other suppliers of patch panels. Often the cost of doing all that is comparable to getting a Texas bed.
All the plastic bed liners (tubs) will wear away the paint under then and with water gathering, will rust out the bed, if that is what you are referring to.
My old 06 floor rotted out above passenger side rear wheel.come to find out salt and crud was getting trapped between the bed and the factory heat shield.but I didn’t know it cause it had a spray in bed liner.one day loading my sons dirt bike my foot went through the floor.
when the bed of my '05 was like, after some searching with help from friends I was able to buy a brand new one from a '16 with just primer for $1600. Uncommon I know but possible. I live in Maine, I found a few in Texas but shipping was going to cost about $1/mile
