I recently installed the EZ Lynk with GDP tunes. I’m currently running the switch on the fly option and my tune levels are 30, 60, 90, 120 and 150HP. Which is the best tune for towing and fuel mileage?
On my 2015 F350 I have GDP, Proven Diesel, and Tyrant tunes........like 70 tunes to pick from.
Best mileage and towing.....everything is the Tryrant 210 tune. I leave it on that all the time now.
Only tow up to 10,000 lbs.....so i tow with it too.
Shifts like stock.....great power and the best mileage of any tune I tried.
I had the best luck with the straight tunes.......no SOTF......and I have both versions of it.
But that's on a 15. The tuning seems to be very different for each year?
Best to ask your tuner and keep delete comm. off the radar...unless you’re running emissions in-tact tunes.
im currently emissions intact. I asked the tuner tech via chat and I got a response along the lines of they basically can’t tel you what/how to run your tunes because they don’t want to be liable for possible damage.
I have an EZlynk and tried the PPEI 75HP delete tune. PPEI tunes are garbage. Other may have different opinions.
My Tyrant 75HP delete tow tune is much better. Better mpg unloaded then the PPEI.
I never towed with the PPEI tune.
I tow a 13,500lb 5er with my Tyrant 75HP delete tune. Works very well. Had a few very hard shifts the first time i towed with the tune. But i believe it has figured itself out and never hard shifts with the trailer in tow now.

These are the general rule of thumb from what i've gathered on the internet. They apply to deleted trucks but i'm pretty certain it'll be similar for emissions on tuning.
Lower hp tunes are best for towing because you don't risk blowing the engine or trans and have lower egt. With low hp tunes, you can tow near the max towing of your truck. As you go up in tune hp level, the amount you can tow with that tune decreases. The tuning company should at least say something like 30 hp tune can tow up to x lbs, 60 hp tune can tow up to x lbs, etc.
The higher hp tunes (hotter tunes) will generally yield the best mpg due to more/higher injection timing. However, it is still very dependent upon you driving sensibly and not hot-rodding the truck. Again, please note the high hp tunes risk blowing the engine/trans if you tow any significant amount so the high hp tunes are best for just driving without a trailer.

What mpg are you getting? I have a 19 so it might be different than the 15 but i've ran the Tyrant street, performance, and extreme tune doing >90% city driving and the mpg is low 14s.

What mpg are you getting and what's the %city vs %highway driving? Thanks

I have a 18 350 crew DRW 4x4 3.55s & 33.4” tall tires(1.9” taller then stock). So the gear ratio is a little lower then 3.55.
i get 18+mpg with cruise set at 70mph. ive gotten as high as 20.4mph on a 160mile trip on I10 at 70mph. Very flat terrain. 18+ is the norm at 70mph.
I get 25mpg-28mpg at 55mph with cruise set on flat ground.
I dont do a lot of city driving as I live outside the city limits.
Driving short trips around town, i average 16+. But my around town driving is normally in the winter which for some reason nets lower mpgs. We dont get #1 diesel here so its not the fuel. Its the temps.
I do baby the throttle like a grandpa. My lady tells me to “hurry grandpa” when shes riding with me. LoL.
I find cruise control to be the biggest fuel saver. I will use it even in a 30mph zone for 1 mile from the neighborhood to the interstate.
Towing my 13.5K 5er when truck was stock i got 7mpg @ 70mph.
Deleted & 75HP tune I get 9.5mpg towing @70mph. Rolling 75mph while towing it drops to 8.5ish.
