last week i got two tunes from jody for my xcal2: 60 tow and 80 econ. ran the 60 tow last week, towed the trailer to the desert and back, great, the truck performs awesome, the 60 tow is better than the 90 hp program i used in the superchip. yesterday i loaded up the 80e, still runs great, even more power than the 60, of course, but man it smokes. went WOT getting onto the freeway today and i could hardly see the car behind me. is this normal for an 80e tune? if so, how the hell does it get better mileage using all that fuel
Give us some more info on any mods for your truck to better help you. With 26 posts, you should be able to fill out your signature. Congrats on the DP tuner.
80e will smoke when you get on it hard, after all it is a performance gain typically more than 80 hp on the dyno. Of course, driving for fuel mileage, you should be very very light on the throttle so you won't be using all that fuel or ponies. Picture an egg between your right foot and the pedal.
Just installed my DP Tuner and took it for a test drive. Yup, the 80e can lay down some smoke - just ask the folks on the RTD bus that was next to me during a stop sign launch.
