Hi,
I swapped out my dash lights for LED's because a few of them had gone out, but now after driving 20 min or so I get an alarm going off. Like a door ajar but there is nothing on the dash telling me what is wrong. I don't get any codes on the scan gauge. It goes away after about 5 min. Any ideas?
Thanks,
I would start with putting the incandescent lamps back in to see if the issue goes away.
I put LEDs in and took them out after about a month of them and the hot spots they cause
in the lighting of the cluster. Circuit Board Medics Has a LED they can install in the cluster that
gives even lighting without the hot spots of aftermarket LEDs.
It could be. Do you have a good tool that can scan for codes from the other systems?
Most of the lower cost scan tools don't do well with the other things like the transmission,
body, cluster and security codes.
Forscan lite would be your first choice for a dependable app to read all codes.
It's in the app store for your various cell phones. The only diff is in the dongle you buy! You'll need a Bluetooth dongle for Android or a WiFi dongle for Apple.
Very good app.
The air bag light would likely be the culprit -- safety thing, the system checks for the operation of the bulb -- the LED does not pull enough to satisfy the test
I have a Scan Gage. I can get access to a better tool to scan however. Maybe its time to just bite the bullet and replace the clock spring. I'll go pull codes this afternoon and see if anything comes up.
Thank you for all your help!
