Boss V-Plow

I am looking at purchasing a new Boss Poly V-Plow. Anyone have any horror stories to tell me about before I buy one. They seem to be a good plow. But of course the sales people will never tell you the bad stuff, that's what we have each other for. Let the stories flow. I would like to hear any good things people know about them also.

Thanks,
Rick

I don't know about the poly, but a guy I know (who can't be all that smart since he owns a Chebby ) has had 2 different steel Boss v-plows and he loves them. The new mounting system is pretty slick too.

I was looking at a steel v-plow, and I talked to a guy that had a poly plow. It isn't much more money and the face doesn't rust. And I'm told the snow doesn't stick to it as much as steel. Something different.

A few years back, I witnessed one poly blade (not a boss)explode when it hit a concrete parking block, from then on Iv'e always been leary of them. Im sure they have made improvements with them, but I can never help thinking that may happen.

Do you do commercial or residential?

Why all the talk about poly...
Some guys havn't liked the V plow cause the curve isn't real good it definetly doesn't plow like a straight blade. It doesn't throw the snow like a straight blade..but of course it does other things well though.

I plow 5 parking lots, none of them really big. 8-10 hours per storm. I think the V-Plow will be a big advantage. As for Poly vs. Steel....I don't know, local Highway dept had gone to all Poly plows on the big trucks 11 - 12 ft. They seem to work really well for them.

No one has brought up the issue of weight. I had a straight 7 -1/2' Boss steel on my '86 that was extremely heavy. I tried to get a mount to use it on my '99 F350 dually but Boss told me it couldn't be done economically. And since it was a dually I needed a wider blade anyway. I just bought a 9' Snowway with plastic blade for the lighter weight.
