Two batteries connected in parallel, as in many trucks, make up a single large battery, electrically speaking. The voltage is the same, the current capacity is doubled.
Two batteries connected in series, make up a single larger battery as well. The voltage doubles, the current capacity is the same. In the .mil the trucks are supplied with 4 large 12 volt batteries connected in series-parallel arrangement, a 24 volt system.

I was neutral, had no clue. After I explained it they decided they both were right just explaining it differently. Lol
I still get to do the dishes at our camper, DW cooks and I clean,not too bad of a deal for me.
