Trailer Hookup Lights

I Just bought a used tailgate with steps for my 2018 F-250. It has a place for camera and a trailer hookup light. My old tailgate only has a camera hole, not one for the light. What actuates the trailer hookup light? Would I need a new harness for this swap? Can't find anything about this online parts stores.

It activates with the doors With the interior and puddle lights. Sorry, can’t help with wiring/harness info.

I'd run the light off either an upfitter switch, or a weatherproof toggle switch mounted somewhere at the rear of the truck. On and off whenever you want it...unless you wanted it all OEM.

Did the used tailgate have the harness inside? If so, it's likely that your truckside harness has the wiring for the hookup light already. My truck didn't come with the light. I added my own by adding the two pins to the tailgate harness to mate with the pins already existing on the truck side. I want to say it's a blue wire and a white wire.
