Intermitten Wipers

I recently pulled an intermittent wiper switch out of an early 90s F150 to put in my 78 F100 and it works..... but only 1 long pause, like 20 seconds long. I heard ground is crucial to that working but I am pretty sure my ground is good. Is there anything else it could be? Also if i found the ground is good is the problem in the switch or the module most likely? Thanks.

You will also need the intermittent wiper governor.

Yes the black box shown in the video is also needed. I have done the upgrade and it works pretty good.

I wanna say at one time Bronco Graveyard showed that the control boxes were coming soon, but haven't checked back because I found a used unit on eBay.

Intermittent wiper governor (aka delay module) not mentioned in post #1

ND, buddy! Huh? How does proper terminology help this guy troubleshoot his problem?

OP. You said ground is good but, did you actually use the ground wire? This must be be used or the module will not function properly. I’ve seen these units work for a while but malfunction down the road. And they use a ground point behind the instrument cluster where the steering column brackets are permanently affixed to the cab. While you are in there, would be a good opportunity to put a ground strap from the same point and attach it to the bottom of the dash.

I think some of us are confused on whether he has the module (governor) or not. I missed that it was mentioned in his opening post.

OP, to clarify do you have the black box or not?
