I had a caliper bolt come out and Ford does not sell just the bolt. It's a M10x1.25x25MM. I got going again using a bolt from home depot but I worry about the grade. Does anyone know the bolt specs? Will a grade 8.8 (Grade5) be sufficient?
Thats crazy FOMOCO doesnt sell just the caliper bolts. Im assuming your talking about the bolts that hold the caliper to the spindle?
What happens when a mechanic screws up and loses a caliper bolt or breaks one? They waste an entire caliper just to take the bolt out of it for replacement on another? Sounds idiotic.
I would try an auto parts store like the other said.
Check the factory torque specs. Usually caliper retaining bolts don't use much torque so probably best to get the correct grade of bolt just to be safe.
