I had to replace the front spindle on my bronco and it has five bolts that bolt the axle or knuckle to the spindle and one of them broke, i'm having trouble finding another one, can I drive it with only 4 bolts for temporary or is that a bad idea?
Well, I would have to say I wouldnt drive it like that.
I have driven short distances with 4 lug nuts even 3 but that spindil has alot of weght and stress on it and runing it with out all 5 bolts could either bend the flange or snap the other bolts from more stress on them.
That should be a fairly simple bolt to find, if it looks like a regular bolt then get a grade 8 bolt from a hardware store or try the dealer or wrecking yard.
Its dicontinued from ford and none of the local auto stores have it. Its not a hex bolt but it drives in from the back like a wheel stud and its serrated.
