Tuner Question

Evening, all. I just joined the site so I hope I am not breaking protocol. I've read a lot of the recent "delete/tuner threads" here and I believe this is a new topic? (Apologies of it is not.)

I have a stock 2014 F250 King Ranch and am looking to get it deleted but I am beyond thoroughly confused. For obvious reasons, I cannot seem to find any delete tunes on almost any site besides eBay (Min Maxx - see below)

1) EZ Lynk Agent 2.0 tuner - Will they NOT work on a deleted truck at all? Or will they all "work" on a deleted truck IFF you have the correct tunes? PPEI's website states their tuners are for an Emissions only truck. I reached out to multiple sites but none will tell me if they work on deleted trucks IFF I have the right tune (I did NOT ask to purchase a deleted time from them.) I see EZ lynks listed on several sites for $400 and $500 with NO tune packages.

2) I tried to purchase the EZ Lynk AG2 at a local mechanic but they insist on doing the delete themselves, which I am not opposed to BUT, they will install only one tune on the truck (my pick) and I DO NOT get to keep the EZ Lynk itself - so no monitoring, no reverting back to stock if something goes wrong... They want $1,600 for the delete Pipe and the single 75 hp tune. This seems rather hokey me? I think their quote was $3,300 if I wanted to be able to change between 5 different horsepower tunes
---- If I let them do the delete for me, can I purchase an EZ-Lync AG2 separately and have it "understand" my current deleted tune and then be able to revert between stock and delete any time I want? I'd like to try the different tunes before I settle on any one.

3) I see several H&S Mini Maxx Race Tuners listed on eBay as-well-as a couple other sites (Diesel Truck Products) that say theirs are delete capable.
A) Does this mean that the Min Maxx's come with all of the delete tunes pre-loaded? (the companies selling them would not respond.)
B) I am assuming most of these are the Chinese rip-offs since H&S went out of business years ago? Diesel Truck Products responded and said theirs was Made in the US. Any ideas if there are actually any US-made delete versions of these floating around?

4) has anyone worked with 'Diesel Truck Products' before? I see a couple or three bad reviews on them and no positive reviews. Just not seeing many other options besides them.

Thanks in advance!!!

You really should ask this over in the 6.7 forum. Maybe one of the moderators will move it to the 6.7 forum. Or maybe you an PM a moderator and ask them to move it.

Before September of 2019 delete kits and tunes were available online. The EPA raided one shop and threatened others to discontinue selling and supporting emissions defeat devices and tunes or else suffer huge fines/lawsuits. I'm sure there are ways to get a truck deleted today but it most likely will involve a local shop that knows how to obtain the parts and tunes on the down low.

Here is a list of the supplies I gathered about a year ago needed to delete the 11-16 model powerstroke. Most of the links don't work because the products have been discontinued or removed from the websites. It will give you an idea of the prices and the brand of the parts that most people were using at the time.

$117.99 - Donaldson Muffler - https://shop.donaldson.com/store/en-.../M085421/23228 - M085421 is quieter than the M085171

Check with online company. You have to call to order offroad items now from anyone. Usually 1250.00-1299.00 for EZ-LYNK device and lifetime tunes with support. Stay with a name brand tune writer like GDP for support. They can probably get your exhaust and egr components also.

He just left out a letter. It's ostsaz(dot)com. The place is legit, I've purchased stuff from there. Fast shipping and prompt customer service.

1. Ez Lynk WILL WORK with deletd trucks but you must make sure that the tuning company (i.e. PPEI , GDP, IDP, Proven, etc) offers "off road"tunes. A lot of companies used to offer delet tunes but no longer do so they'll put a disclaimer saying they are emissions on/ complaint to try and avoid confusion. Make sure you read any disclaimers since you don't want to drop some major bucks on compliant tuning.

2. Walk away from that place. The price they are charging is highway robbery and they are outright lying to you. You can get an Ez Lynk with multiple tunes for around $1200 to $1400. The Ez Lynk needs to be linked to your vehicle VIN so you can't have someone load a tune with their Ez Lynk and then you go buy your own Ez Lynk and have it "understand" your tune (i.e change from extreme tune to tow tune to stock emissions on and so on).

3. This topic here is not exactly my specialty so maybe others can chime in to help. H&S is still in business, it's just now they focus on parts like intercooler piping, turbo, etc at least that's my understanding if H&S Motorsports (HSM) is who used to make the Mini Maxx back in the day. Back then H&S Mini Maxx tuners would come with "canned tunes" (think of it like pre-made, generic tunes) and those tunes allowed you to delet your truck. H&S got hit by EPA so Im not sure if that's still the case today or if there's been a change to the Mini Maxx. The one on DTP will do what you're looking for. Do note that H&S does not offer support for the Mini Maxx so if something goes wrong and the store you bought it from is no help you are SOL.

4. Emailed them about exhaust and their customer service was quick in responding but I ending up purchasing elsewhere. There are other options out there besides DTP so avoid them if you're worried. To be fair, I've read a few positive reviews on other forums regarding DTP so there's that.

Good luck!!
