edge electric parking brake
I have an AWD 2019 Ecoboost Edge with about 3000 miles on it.
The electric parking brake has messed up and I'm now getting an alarm display in the dash saying "Park Brake Limited Function. Service now" and sets the alarm chime to ringing constantly. Also the red brake light with an exclamation mark inside of a brake symbol and a yellow alarm with a lightning bolt in a circle beside the brake alarm in the dash are flashing.
I have tried setting the brake on and then off several times, but it didn't work.
Brake fluid level is good. Can't see it having anything to do with this issue, but I checked anyway.
It happened the next day after I washed it, but the alarm bell didn't sound so I could still drive it if I had to. The bell started ringing 2 days later.
There is no ice on the brakes because it's 40 degrees today.
Any ideas what it could be?
I'm taking it in for repair this week.

Well, it's all fixed and CathedralCub and Chuck's were right.
The dealer fixed it under warranty. The problem was there was a piece of the plastic body broken off the housing that allowed water in to the electric actuator. I wondered how it got busted up and the techs said they had never seen damage on that part like that before.
Brought it in on Tuesday, part was ordered, fixed before lunchtime the next day. And got a Lincoln MKC to drive in the meantime. Couldn't have got better service.
