Brighter Reverse Lights

New user but have been lurking here for years. I'm looking at replacing the reverse lights on my new (to me) 2016 F-350 Crew Cab SRW with something brighter. I've found that as I am getting "older" things don't seem so bright at night anymore. I've been looking around for something that is a relatively easy solution, "plug & play" if you will and was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on what has worked for them. TIA

I replaced the oem reverse bulbs in my 2006 and 2011 F350’s with led bulbs; simpke plug and play.

significant improvement; the trucks are used for plowing, so I do alot if reverse driving. Not the same as a spotlight, of course, but definitely worth it.

these are what I used

“iBrightstar Newest 9-30V Super Bright Low Power 3156 3157 3057 4157 LED Bulbs with Projector Replacement for Back Up Reverse Lights and Tail Brake Parking Lights, Xenon White”

I, also, replaced mine with LED bulbs. Easy and brighter. I found it harder to see around the dually fenders as I backed up. They are an improvement.

I used some Philips 921 Vision LED's; they're pretty nice.

no issues - two separate trucks too. Truly plug and play

Assuming your standard backup bulb is a 921, I would use these; https://ddmtuning.com/194Canbus-5xCree-W , I think you will like them, Russ

I started running this set from Amazon. 1550 Lumens per bulb give me plenty of light out back now. Simple plug and play into my ‘15. I was told to stay away from the Canbus lights like these, because they generated too much heat. Super happy with the outcome! Even bought another set and replaced the rear cab lights in the 3rd brake light housing. LUYED 2 X 1550 Lumens Extremely...

Thanks jsukey, yet another choice! LOL Actually, I think 1550 lumens is the brightest I've seen so far! I'm finding out why my Dad always just smirked and snickered when I used to make "Old Man" jokes years ago... thus the search for "brighter" bulbs for dimmer eyes!

Haha! I truly do understand. I will snap a couple of pics here in a little bit once it gets dark to show you how bright they are.

It’s been 18 months since I read this thread and not the bullet and put LED’s in the reverse sockets.

it’s a big effort the removed the Liftgate from the rear of the truck so they have stayed because of this.

I forgot the model and lumens of the bulbs.

yes they are “appearing” to be *brighter*on first install but, that was extremely short lived. These are just way too dim. I’ve got these LED flood lamps that I scored for a clearance deal at Tractor supply or Northern Tool a couple months back. These will be going on the rear this week (if all goes well) and piggybacked on the reverse wire. Pictures will most certainly follow….
