Overhead console shorted out
Hello all. So my absolute crap recon cab lights have been leaking. My overhead console took on some water and the circuit board shorted or something and the front interior lights dont work now. Anyone know where i can get just the circuit board?

Obviously fix the leak first. After that if the only issue is interior lights I'd probably just live with it... You may be able to order the board from Ford but more likely it'll be the entire console in one piece. I'm unaware of a third party seller with just the board.

I made a post the other day that my truck was leaking from the antenna and the other 3 fords in the shop were checked and had corrosion in their overhead consoles as well. I recommend all owners to check before it’s too late.

So the dealer replaced the clearance lights with the new upgraded gasket type. I have the full extended coverage. Now the dealer is saying leaks are not covered and they wont replace the console. This is total BS. Dealer is working with Ford to try and get it approved. Not happy with Ford right now.

In your first post, you are complaining of absolute crap recon lights leaking. Now you are saying that dealer replaced with new ones? If these were aftermarket lights leaking, how is that Fords problem to fix?

I have the ReCon cab lights but I installed them myself and made sure to seal everything properly. I may go back and seal the factory antenna spot as I noticed it only had a gasket with no sealant.

In the extra warranty disclaimer, it says water leaks aren’t covered out of the bumper to bumper warranty. My antenna was obviously leaking from day 1 so the dealer said they would fix it under my extra warranty. I was shocked. Of course, I am not going to point out that the warranty states leaks aren’t covered.
No after market accessories installed on my truck that could cause leaks for all of you stating the crappy after market lights leaking comments. It sucks but I agree, if an after market accessory caused a leak, warranty should be denied. Sorry (I am Canadian)
