That key should be cut the exact same as the ones in your key fobs (there is a physical key stored in your fobs).
It can be used to lock/unlock your center console, driver's door, spare tire, and [not sure if Ford does this one] start your vehicle by popping out the push-to-start button.

Ford does not have a slot below the push to start button. Depending on the type console you have depends on where the backup slot is to lay your not functioning (dead remote battery) fob to allow the vehicle to start. READ THE OWNERS MANUAL, you can look in the Index and just go straight to the dead remote part of the manual, if need be.
