There were only three widths made, 5.25”, 6.00”, and 6.75”. The 6.75” was the latest of them dating from the late 1970s to very early 1980s. I recall one original set having been found and promptly sold. Aside from that, I believe Chuck had (or has) a relationship with a custom build shop. I sold my 6.00” set last fall and have one 5.25”, but doubt you want it. Stu
I feel bad that you are still looking for these. They are very hard to find, and that’s why when I’ve found you sets they are so expensive. Best of luck!
Most likely going to order the rims this week. I know I can get 22.5x6.75,. I might be able to get 22.5x 5.25 or 22.5x6.00. The four rims I currently have are 22.5x6.75. I’ll put all four of those on the back. Should I stick with 6.75 for the front or go with thinner ones (5.25 or 6.00)? That might make steering a little easier? If I do go thinner, would they make the tire bubble up a little? With the 6.75 on now, I only have about 1” clearance from tire tread to wheel well front sheet metal and back sheet metal. Lots of room from top of tire to bottom sheet metal of wheel well.
The 9R22.5” is designed for either the 6.00” or 6.75” rim. The 5.25” will cause the tire to crown a bit. Chuck has told me that he prefers the 5.25s on the front of his trucks because the crowning reduces steering input. Stu
I think I recall that our member Mark Buck found some 5.25s. No sure if he’d break the set if he found that many, but I’ll text him and ask him to comment. I have one 5.25 if another can be found. Stu
