I reinstalled my Park Brake cable/housings yesterday. The slipped into the rear backing plate hole and are held in by the 'fingers' once in place. My concern is they are loose and I think they should have some kind of additional "keeper" on them..
I can't find a parts diagram that shows any other parts or even a picture of it... any guidance would be appreciated..
These are the things that keep me awake at night,,,
No - the fingers keep the cable from coming back out of the backing plate. When you pull on the e-brake it all tightens up. They should be loose.
I have already spread some of the fingers to open them up a bit after I've compressed them to get them out of the backing plate, but don't worry about looseness.
