painted bumpers
A question for owners with painted bumpers vs chrome who live in winter conditions. How are your bumpers holding up against rock chips and road salt. I see alot of newer chrome bumpers not doing so well.

I live in the Canadian prairies and work in the northern Alberta oil fields. If you get a painted bumper, get paint protection film on it. I had about 30 rock chips on my 18 limited painted bumpers within a week and almost all my driving was highway at that time. I got X-Pel self healing paint protection put on after I filled in the chips and all has been great since then.

You’ll need the Xpel or Equivalent if its winter conditions or not.
After 10k miles I have one little pen head sized mark in my painted bumper with Xpel.
I will be just fine with it if it becomes a well used 150k mile truck with a few little marks in it.
