Help! Have a Question?

I Have a 94 F-150 trying to change the timing belt cover. I had a friend that was helping me he yank off the casket from the oil pan that also seal the bottom of the timing belt cover, in doing so I now have to replace the casket and had re lift the engine, doing so the engine is now hitting the fire wall and the chain has been exposed to the elements going on 2 years now. The person that was helping me went psycho on me and I had discharge his service. Now I'm stuck doing it all by myself . The question I have do I need to replace the chain if it been exposed that long and how can I lift the engine that been sitting on a cherry pick so I can remove the pan without loosing up the Trans or removing the chasy.

If it has had the timing chain cover open and the chain has been exposed to the elements for two years, then the engine needs to be taken apart enough to at least see how much damage has been done to the rest of it. Moisture, dust, critters, etc. are all concerns at this point. The folks that know a lot about this kind of thing don't usually frequent the "New Member Introductions" forum. You might might want to post in the "1987 - 1996 F150 & Larger F-Series Trucks" forum to get some more answers flowing.

Welcome aboard!
