Hey guys, new member. I just switched from a problematic Ram to my first Ford 2 weeks ago. The truck has been great so far but I am concerned about some pretty bad wheel hop that shakes the whole truck. It only happens in wet snow/heavy slush in 2 wheel drive with the traction control on. Once I turn it off the tires spin as they should. It shakes so bad that I have to let off the gas and come to a stop. The truck is a 2018 with 16,xxx miles on it totally stock besides 33" BFG's I just put on. We didn't have any snow while I had the stock tires on.
The traction control on my ram just killed the power but there was no wheel hop. With the ford the power is definitely decreased by then the wheel hop and truck shakes.
Anyone else have this issue?
Taking a guess here and wondering if you have the electronic locking differential on. It will hop and skip if one tire does not slip on the surface. Could be worse by having bigger tires with better traction. Does it happen when driving straight ahead? Is it only at low speeds? push in the 4x4 selector **** and see if it changes. It might be stuck locked up.
A shot in the dark for you... not a problem I have had with mine except when all locked up and you don't need to be.

I don't have the locker option on my 4x4 system. The couple times it happened was from stand still not while travelling down the road and when backing out of my driveway onto a cleared street so I didn't need to put it in 4x4.
So as far as you know you didn't have this issue before changing tires?
Do all of the tires have the correct PSI in them?
Yes, I have no idea if the problem existed before I put the tires on, we did not have any snow for the first week or so after purchase. I bought it on a friday and the following wednesday I had the new tires put on. That was 3 weeks ago tomorrow.
Did you reprogram the truck for the new tire size? If not, it will cause problems with the speedo, ABS, etc.
No, nothing has been reprogrammed. The tires are only 1" bigger than stock. I did use an online calculator so I would know how my speedo would be effected. The difference was only 2 mph so I'm not worried about it.
I am pretty sure it has something to do with the traction control because there is no wheel hop when that is off. It has only happened from a dead stop. I did try to recreate the issue when I was on a slick road going about 10mph and the traction control just limits the power.

Unfortunately this sounds like it's going to be one of those hard to solve issues.
