I agree, that muffler is hung 90 degrees out. It should be installed laying flat, instead of vertical. Looks like hell. I would not have left the shop with that monster hanging down like that.
I installed mine like that. Seemed like the only logical way given the hangers and dual outlet pipes.
I see what you mean. Mine is vertical like that on my 460 but you can see the muffler is actually about 1/2" higher than the cat. I don't know what motor he has but if it is a 460 they installed the incorrect muffler. Whatever it is it isn't right. Sandy
My '97 F250HD has the 7.5L and the muffler is round. The exit end of the muffler has the two pipes vertical, the turn as they transition over the axle to be horizontal behind the rear wheel. You can see it if you step back from the vehicle a ways.
As an aside, this is why I don't go to Midas for anything. The doofs in the shop just grab a generic muffler off the rack and goober weld it into place. Doesn't matter if it's the wrong one or not.
