Differences in '93 HVAC Control vs 1996?

Regarding my 93 F150...when I turn the 'heat tmp' control all the way to hot (5:00 position, more or less) it doesn't get anywhere near as warm as my 96 F250. Does anyone know if the controls are the same mechanisms? It almost feels as if the 93 is cable driven as opposed to the 96 which is vacuum driven? It would seems as if I could get behind the control panel I could open it a bit more if I could manually pull the cable......any thoughts on this?

My ‘94 had a cable. The cable retaining clip at the blend door is located behind the glove box. You could try adjusting it there.

They are the same. Both cable controlled.

They are both cable-controlled, but the 96 has a completely different kind of cable and attachment. Also, it's mounted to the back half of the heater core box, not the front half. Still accessible by removing glove box and then two bolts in ABS module in front of heater core box, though.

Can a 1994 F250 "Single" cable be upgraded to a 95 and up "Double" style cable, would a 1996 mustang "double" cable work or does it have to be from a truck?

Not sure what would be involved in attaching the double cable, but this thread: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...97-trucks.html has some good photos of the 1996 cable cam and how it attaches at the heater core end, and @85lebaront2 might be able to help you.

Here's a photo of the 1996 double cable at the climate control end, after removal from the climate control module (and with the **** put back on in order to move the cable), to compare with your 1994.

For what reason? I never had any issues with the ‘94 hvac controls.

Looking at the pictures of the two (I don't have them in front of me) it looks like the drive assembly could be swapped from one to the other as both appear to have a tab and a screw hole.

Since I'm currently dealing with a sticky 1996 double cable, I also wonder if it's an upgrade or worth the trouble to switch from the 1994 single cable, unless your single cable is broken and you happen to have access to a hard-to-find double cable. Most of those big plastic cams are probably getting kind of brittle after 25 years, and it's twice the length of cable to dry out or kink.
