I use Mercon SP exclusively. It is available at any parts house but I get it from Rockauto at a savings close to $3.00 per quart less. That's what Ford wanted back in the day and that's what I am going to use. I've heard too many horror stories of failed solenoids due to improper fluid. https://www.rockauto.com/en/tools/tr...on+fluid,11387
when LV first came out and tranny’s that were on SP started to have tranny problems I went out and bought 4 cases of SP becuase in my mind at the time LV was a scam to get more cafe points at the expense of tranny life. So I have been using SP thinking it was gooder. Running out of SP and giving this a re-look and what ever was causing the SP to LV fluid switch problems has been a thing of the past. Also learned that LV is synthetic and SP is not.
what will I be using next…anything that says LV compatible and if I run into any SP I’ll use that.
