Lighten up dad! Who doesn't like a good burnout? I will be 67 soon and still light them up occasionally.
I still have love for the diesels, but have said it before that most of them are shocked of the quickness of my truck from stoplight to stoplight.
0-60 a diesel doesn't want to challenge a 6.2 with 4:30 gears or they might be wondering what the heck just happened.

The 6.2 was the fastest stock gasser in this segment before the 7.3. I recall TFL clocked the 6.4 Hemi, 6.0 Vortec, and Fords 6.2 “Boss” and the 6.2 out accelerated all of them despite being in the heavier truck.
From pg 228 of your manual, see line 3 of this table and hold that button down for 5 seconds.
^^^^^The most helpful post in this thread^^^^^. Also, these 6.7s have sport mode if I'm not mistaken, don't you just have to press the TC button twice after turning TC off?
I'll have to try the above post to see if it works. Not for burnout purposes, but for wet grass purposes. My 2wd 6.7 got stuck on wet grass once, I turned off TC, put in sport mode by accident.......still wouldn't sling the tires hard enough to clear the tread.
That's impressive, but I still don't buy 2.6 second 0-60 time...not that it matters what I think But I have researched a lot about diesel trucks and have seen no one anywhere else claiming to get less than around 4.2...and that's still a bit difficult to accept. What modifications have you made to the truck to get it moving like that?
Just plug my trap speed and ET into a online calculator, it will give you an 0-60. I normally use Wallaceracing.com, but there a plenty of others. If you need 1/8 mile stats, then 6.8 secs @103 mph. Also note, this is on regular Michelin LTX street tires, in 4wd.
Truck has twin turbos, injectors, injector pump work, 2 stages of inter cooling and a very heavy duty trans w/3.54 gears. I built it to race in NHRDA’s Super Diesel class. But the NHRDA went under a couple of years ago, so now it hauls the camper. But I still do 4wd burnouts occasionally.

Nice truck! I believe the times, as I'm a drag truck kinda guy myself. My 2018 F350 DRW truck does have reduced torque in 1st. I can stall it up until it starts to spin all 4 back tires, then I put it on the mat and release the brakes. It will hook and shift into 2nd and start spinning again when full power comes on. Then it's kinda boring. It feels the best when it's in 4th and TCC is locked. You roll into the throttle then and it just pushes you back in the seat.
I also have a 2001 F250 with the old 7.3 that has 520hp and 950 lb ft at the tires. It runs 8.30@86 mph @ 7500 lbs, which is 0-60 in 4 seconds. I also use it to haul a 13K camper sometimes. Then I have my full-on drag truck. It's a 1974 F100 with a naturally-aspirated BBF. It runs 5.09@135, 0-60 in 1.01 seconds. I have a new engine with 215 more hp that should put it down to the 4.70's@145-150. I like making trucks go fast, lol..

That's impressive numbers for your f-100, Heck I will be happy to run the 4's with a full tube car. You would not have been on the diesel stop as a member would you? I seem to remember a 01 like mine that was in the 500hp range. CJ
What you have to understand is, these trucks were not made to "rip" the track. The were built to pull and carry heavy loads. I'm guessing you don't have a big trailer, or haul big loads. That's where this truck shines. It's called the right tool for the job. If you want to rip the tracks, get a Mustang GT. That'll light your fire.
Yep fully agree with this here ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^.
To the OP, yes, the 5.7 Hemi in my 1/2 ton was faster off the line than my 6.2 in my 3/4 ton. But with my Hemi, I'd couldn't tow past 60 without it getting squirrelly on me. While it's not as fast off the line as my Hemi, my Ford's fast enough off the line that I'm usually cursing at the idiot in front of me who doesn't know where his gas pedal is. The difference is, when I hook up the trailer, I'm still all set to cruise along at 'flow of traffic' speeds, with no squirrels present. After 3 hours pulling with the Hemi, I was irritable beyond reconciliation. With the Ford, having the right tool for the job, I can now pull 6-7 hours before the fatigue does me in. My wife's willing to talk to me now after parking the trailer, and I'll take that over extra acceleration I can't use any day!

The F-250 has a lot more weight to get rolling, the half ton 6.2s are rocket ships.

Thanks! I was a member waaay back when, but I haven't been to TDS in many years. I went over to PSN for a while, but I don't even go there anymore. The 7.3 stuff has been fading away and the problems I have now with the truck, nobody has any solutions for, probably because all the sharp guys are gone. I love my 2001 F250, but the lack of good parts to fix the brakes and a/c have sidelined it for a while.

Now those are great numbers! I love fast trucks going down the track. I was building an engine to hopefully get mine in single digits in the 1/4. But when the NHRDA went to crap, I kinda dropped it. Still sitting there in the corner waiting to go in something. Lately been giving thought to something like a 40 Ford pickup.
