Ford 300 vs 2jz reliability

I've had one of my two f250s since 88 (my 88 obviously) with 782k and 211.6 miles on it, and I can't find anything on comparing this motor with the 2jz so I wanted to see what everyone thinks is the more reliable motor of the two, unfortuneatley I plan to rebuild my motor because I plan to slap a .67 AR turbo onto it and a 268 cam because I tow a lot with it, and was at about 6800 ft and I felt bad for my 300 6 (40x8x10 cargo container) so I think the rebuild, port n polish similar to vortec head style and the turbo will bring it back to be able to handle another 700k, I'm only looking at 7-8 psi so nothing crazy and I love these two trucks

uhhh- well, I think similarities are easier :they're both straight sixes.

.67 ar only tells you how big the turbine is compared to the compressor, you know, so you can have
a 200cfm .67 a/r turbo and a 1200 cfm a/r...

That noted, the 300 is probably a great candidate for a low- boost 'demand' turbo, as it has massive
amounts of heat sinking ability, and a huge bottom end.
The head design is very primitive AND iron, though, so getting heat out of the valves in particular
might be harder than with an aluminum head engine. And managing detonation will be
a challenge because of the head.

You will not get 600k out of a boosted engine if you got that much out of the unboosted verion.
But you might get 300k, and that would be 300 happy k.

t
boosted a non- crossflow iron- head Volvo once. A bit.

Thank you for the info on the mileage, I mostly pull with it like a 28FT 5th wheel flatbed usually containers, I'm looking for higher lift rockers because I heard you could put the higher lift rockers on, the head will be port n polished to create a vortex inside when it's ported, gonna take some dished Windsor 5.8 pistons and put them in, lower compression to boost can keep it at around 8.8-9.4:1 I like being able to run 87 octane

Grandfather bought a new f250 in 1966 with the 300 in it..he hauled grain (homemade side boards), trapped in it,,and drove it pretty much any place he wanted...I got it when I turned 16 (almost 20 years later) and we had a in-frame rebuild done...that poor truck got 10mpg no matter what I did..tow a 8 wheeled tractor 15 miles...fill the bed with semi tires and rims...never could get it over 60 miles per hour unless it was a steep hill with a tail wind..hell I even let it freeze solid one year by adding too much water to the cooling system and all it did was pop 1 freeze plug..love that truck.. so yeah all motors have its fans and haters...but reading most of the above it shows they are tough motors that take a lot to kill off, perfect no...but they are tough

Do I have this right? You are trying to compare a Ford 300 6 cylinder truck engine to a Toyota Supra engine? Both are great engines, but why?
