Just curious as to which truck you all feel is the better buy New 2019 F250 XLT CCSB 6.7 with the following options for 51k out the door or a 2016 F250 CCSB Platinum w/ 55Kmiles. 1 owner Certified Pre-Owned for 44k out the door?
Your question doesn't allow me to compare apples to apples. I don't have a way of knowing the options list for the 2016 even including what kind of engine it has. If the 2016 has the same engine and other options I'd get the new one. If the 2016 has a gas engine I'd definitely get the new one. The new one has a decent warranty. That clinches it. If the 2016 only had 10,000 miles on it (and the same options) then there'd be a different answer here. If you only drive ten miles a month I'd get the 2016 because it doesn't really matter what engine etc. at that point and you'd save $7,000.00 .
Thanks for the reply. The 16 is a 6.7 powerstroke with the platinum ultimate package. I drive roughly 20k miles a year. Im just trying to decide whether all the added options of the older platinum for a cheaper price is a better buy then a new XLT. I'm sure in 5 years the Platinum will still be worth more, or at least as much as, the XLT but I could be wrong that's why I decided to ask the question. Thanks again for any replys.
Personally, in this case I would not even consider the used truck vs the new. Sure the used one is a higher trim level with more options, but your are losing out on 4 years of usage, you have the old sync system, someone else might have run the crap out of that engine and who knows what else. Then if you’re in the rust belt, you have the steel body vs the new aluminum, and you have a full warranty. The frame is stronger on the new truck, this really is not a good comparison, in the end you have to be happy.
Does the 2016 happen to have a DPF delete kit installed on it? Depending on where you buy the truck this is an important option. I have numerous coworkers with newer PSD trucks that have DPF deletes installed.
Thanks for the replies.. the 16 is completely stock 1 owner ford certified pre owned. It's a hard decision for me although I'm not a option heavy person they would be nice to have if the price is right
Another thing to consider is that you could probably haggle easier on the price of the 2016 truck, while the new truck would have better financing options.
