i have a 2011 f-150 king ranch with the 3.5 ecoboost. My question is should i get a 2015 or wait a bit? and what trim should i get if i was to get a f-150
Trim depends largely on your budget and what features you think are neccessary. Personally, I think an XLT with a couple add-ons is a pretty nice truck and a Lariat is even nicer. For my use and budget, I'd never go higher than that. Still, there are lots of folks who buy the Platinums and I'm sure they love them.
As for when to buy, that's another very personal question. If you can wait until alt least the fall, you should be able to swing a better discount on the truck, even if it's still a 2015 model year. New transmission is coming in 2017 I believe, and that should be a big deal, but if you need a truck before then, the current transmission is very good as well.
For what it's worth, there are still plenty of '14s on some lots and at deep discounts. I've seen guys on other forums taking as much as $12k off sticker before negotiations even get started. That's basically used truck pricing on a new truck...pretty much negating depreciation.
I'd wait because I don't like to buy the first year of a new model...they always seems to be something wrong. Then they fix it for the next year. Just my $.02.
How many miles are on your king ranch and if you purchased a warranty is it still covered by it?
Liam has a good point. Is your miles high enough to warrant a trade shortly? Depreciation goes down quick if its over 100K, wait till end of 2015, you'll be getting better discounts once 2016 hits the lot. Which trim? it all depends on your budget. KR is gorgeous! Another one wouldn't be bad idea.
