spark plug socket for 2003 5.4L v8

My dad has a 2003 5.4L v8. Once in a while, the truck gets a misfire. I've seen a special spark plug socket tool for 04 and newer f150's. Whether the misfire is from a plug or COP, I was wondering is there a spark plug socket tool you guys recommend for the 2003 5.4L v8? I would like to buy him one so he can do spark plug maintenance next time he has to change the plugs. Currently, we borrow my brother's spark plug socket if we need it. Thanks

Its a 5/8 socket wich normally you can buy at any parts store you will also need extensions and a ratchet.
If I were you I would give him a tool set as which normally carries the spark plug socket as a gift.

Might just do that. I figured I ask just in case there was a "specialty socket tool" like I found for 04 and newer. thanks for the reply

I don't perceive that there is a "specialty tool" per sey . I got one that has a 4-5" extension with a bit of swivel attached ( can't take it apart).
I found this pretty handy when getting to the rear most spark plugs. Not sure where I found it, but pretty sure I didn't order it.

that is just 1 place available, willing to bet that its on amazon or ebay too.....I think I found mine at a local parts store.

You may want to consider a deep socket with a rubber insert so the plug comes out / in with the socket.
Good luck.

You may also like to have a “locking” extension so when you pull the extension out of the spark plug well it doesn’t leave the spark plug socket down in the well still attached to the spark plug! @#$&!!

You can always use the COP boot to take it out

To pull out Bluegrass’s rubber lined deep socket after tightening the spark plug and the extension has pulled out of the socket?

Thats why you use either or. I prefer the spark plug socket with no grommet inside.
