Intake suggestions?

I have a S and B intake right now but I was just curious to see what others have to say. What would be a better option on air flow? My truck is bulletproofed and everything that I need to make power, I just want a little more ya know?

S&B makes the finest intake available in my opinion. Their filtration is top notch and airflow is better than 90% of trucks will ever need. It will outflow what a stock hpop, injectors, and turbo will do.

I have a power max stage one turbo with a whicket wheel in it right now and I was just see if there was any other option just to see because I just bought a new tuner and I’m seeing how much I can squeeze out of this turbo before I make another upgrade

The S&B will flow plenty for stage 1 mods. I'm sure others will chime in too but an S&B is more than good enough imho. But if you've got the itch to ditch it, lemme know! I might be willing to rehome it for you......

Unless you’re getting a filter change light on the dash S&B is all you need. Take off the clear cover for more flow. I put fiberglass screen mesh over it to keep debris from falling in it and it looks better.

I am going to run it without the cover and see if that is my MAP fluctuation at WOT. What type of mesh did you place over it? Where did you get it?
I am running a pre-filter on the S&B and wondering if you are as well,

Thanks
Joe

If you really want something bigger (that you don't need) look at the NO LIMITS fabrication. No Limit 6.0 PowerStroke Cold Air Intake

IMO it is totally unnecessary for what you are running and HP you are putting out.

Even with the S&B I was getting the filter minder light on the cluster so I removed the lexan cover and drilled a bunch of 5/8” holes in a grid and covered it with some fiberglass core nylon coated solar screen to maintain flow while keeping leaves out when I open the hood.

You can see it in this photo

call people who are local that build engines and cars and who have access to a chassis dyno and they can give you good advise including tire diameter, gear ratio, along with low end to top end power...

We don’t need any jacklegs telling us anything, we learn the hard way. Haha
I think the guys that chimed in are pretty confident with the recommendations they post up.

Thanks for that.

Funny you mention the filter minder. I noticed mine started creeping downward enough to trigger the light and the filter was clean as a whistle.

The filter minder was 15 yrs old so it just got replaced today since it would not reset.

Your S&B top is totally different than mine, my version is only the lexan top. I have some SS mesh in my amazon basket and am going to run only that, leaving the lexan off.

I am sure my KC Stage II will thank me

Joe

For his situation, I don't think that is necessary. Now if he was running a STAGE III with 200/100 hybrids and raced the truck on a strip then I'd say you're on to something.....just my opinion. It sounds like a street truck with minor mods, not a race truck.

Even if the minder light isn’t coming on I was watching the minder on the intake and making sure it wasn’t sucking down at all. The more air the better! I also made a screen for the very end of the intake where it comes out by the grill. Mine is a S&B Stage2, maybe why it’s different.
I’m selling the PowerMax as soon as the new version 2.0 KC stage 2 turbo comes out...

My S&B is a recent purchase and I don't recall a stage 2 being available....but either way I am going to remove the lexan cover.

Thanks for the help

You will be pulling heated air from under the hood if I am recalling the correct intake.

These have a large duct in the same location as the stock ones, the top part is supplemental.
