Wheel question. I want to change out my 16.5 8 lug wheels with either 16 or 17" wheels, nothing fancy, it is a farm truck. Where is the best place to find and what years will fit an 82 F250 xlt Lariat?

My truck had aftermarket U.S. Series wheels on it. They fit, are pretty, and reasonably priced. For the sake of originality (and passing inspections), I wanted the original steel wheel look. So I bought the wheels from a 92 E350. They are 16x7 and for great.
To my knowledge, you can get the wheels off of any 8th gen Ford truck or van that has the 6.5 inch 8 lug pattern and is not a dually. Should be plenty of crap flying around the junkyards for pretty cheap. I am running 235/70R16. They are pretty close to the original 16.5 wheels.
All 8 lug Ford pickups or vans up to 1997 share the same pattern. The vans kept the same pattern for quite a bit longer (maybe all 8 lug E-series vans???).
Chevy and Dodge trucks had the same 8 on 6.5" bolt pattern forever too, but I don't know if they used the same center hole ID or what years would match up.

(Besides the fact that putting chevy or dodge wheels on a ford seems weird ((but if it saves you money I would say it is acceptable))) I was told that the chevy and dodge rims have a slightly smaller center hole than the fords. Meaning that if your front hubs stick out they won't fit over that outer wheel bearing cone.
