Bull bar

Looking for a bull bar for my 83 f150. Found a guy in my area willing to sell one off an f250. Just wondering if it would work on my truck? It looks like it mounts to the frame not the bumper.

Bumper and bar should share the same bolts.

Jason832 your saying that you think it should work? Maybe it's a universal bull bar. I'm new to the 80-86 models. Dose this look homemade or a factory made to you guys? The owner messaged me to night, and sad he's not sure what its worth make him an offer. I see a dent in the top bar that I would want fixed. Let me know what you guys honestly think it's worth.
Thanks. Joe.
BTW if you guys are watching my other post on swapping out the VV carb, ignition, and emissions elimination I have the new parts ordered.

It's either going to share the same bolts as the bumper, but doesn't look to get the case here, which means it will bolt to the side or top/bottom of the frame, in either case it should fit on your truck. I'd offer him $50 and see what he says. But that's really up to you and what you feel. Look at prices of new, and try to guess how much it would cost in materials and supplies to make it. Not to mention time. Then imagine how much money would upset you. You'd obviously want to pay less than new or an amount that would upset you, and almost as much as it would cost to make. Obviously a little less since it's used and a bit dinged up. But I figure $20 isn't worth his time. And I wouldn't want to give $100 for it, so I figure between $40 and $60.

Kramercd I was thinking I would be ok with 50.00 to 75.00. I think that it cost that and maybe more with time and materials. Thanks.

The next thing is, who is going to remove it? I'd pay more if he did and tossed in the mounting hardware, if only for reference to get new ones. I would want to pay the lower end of my range of I had to remove it. Gives you a little wiggle room when you negotiate price.

Better check and make sure it doesn't mount to the leaf spring shackles. I've seen ones that do.

FWIW, I paid $150 for a brush guard for my Bullnose a year or so ago. The owner had removed it and met me in a local WalMart parking lot. It's at least twice the size of that bull bar though so I think $75 would be a fair price for it. I did see a RanchHand style front bumper modded to fit a Bullnose in a salvage yard. I could tell some custom welding was done on it to make it fit. They wanted $450 so I passed.
